Fighting Fraud in Connecticut

Fight Fraud CT
The State of Connecticut launched a new website, FightFraud.ct.gov, to enhance our efforts to stamp out the fraud and waste that cost our state millions of dollars each year. I encourage you to have a look at the website, which provides examples of fraud that have been detected and investigated, and makes it easier for state residents such as yourself to report any suspicious activity that they feel may constitute fraud.

Since November 2013, the state has identified and recovered tens of millions of dollars in funds from fraudulent practices in the multi-billion dollar Medicaid program by hiring a high-tech firm to help detect patterns of Medicaid fraud. This new website hopes to enhance our fraud-fighting efforts by crowdsourcing detection and reporting.

Are You on the Big List?

CT Big ListTens of thousands of Connecticut residents, possibly including you, currently have unclaimed property in the possession of the state which they are eligible to claim at any time, free of charge. Individuals can quickly check for their own unclaimed property at www.ctbiglist.com at no cost.

The money can include dormant balances in savings and checking accounts, uncashed checks, commissions or wages, and other financial assets that have been forgotten.
