Connecticut Stop Violence Movement Workshops This Saturday

CT Stop Violence MovementThis Saturday, January 16, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., I hope you will join me in participating in two workshops put on by the Connecticut Stop Violence Movement. At the Bridgeport Public Library at 925 Broad Street we will first have a “Saving Our Children” workshop. Community members will take a look at what others are doing to curb inner-city violence in neighborhoods. Certain groups and programs that give our children safe havens will be highlighted.

The second workshop, “What to Do When Stopped by the Police,” will be led by a retired Bridgeport police lieutenant. He will discuss what to do when stopped by the police either in your car, in your home, or on the street.

Free breakfast and lunch will be provided at the event. Please join us for this important community discussion. Learn more on Facebook.

Save Money on Your Electric Bill

billConnecticut has developed one of the more robust competitive electricity retail markets in the country, according to a new report in the Hartford Business Journal: there are 75 suppliers competing in Eversource territory, and 53 in United Illuminating territory.

The most recent ABACCUS report (Annual Baseline Assessment of Choice in Canada and the United States), in July, ranked Connecticut’s residential market as the fourth best in America.
