Fighting to Protect Our Workers

Ed Gomes speaks out
In the state Senate, I am always fighting to protect workers and our community. This week I stood with Senate leadership, other legislators, the Bridgeport Police Department and state police to urge passage of Senate Bill 134. If passed, the bill would expand workers’ compensation coverage to police officers suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) as a direct result of witnessing a death or severe act of violence in the line of duty.

These traumatic events can cause real damage to our police officers, both emotionally and psychologically. We ask these brave men and women to put their lives on the line every day. The least we can do is provide this coverage for them in return.

Please contact me if you agree that we should be fighting to protect these valuable public workers.
