Reminder! Apprenticeship Fair is Next Week

Senator Gomes
As Chair of the Labor Committee in the State Senate, I am always fighting to bring good-paying jobs to our community. Right now, I am working to pass laws that would create paid family medical leave, "ban the box" so those with a past conviction can access more jobs, and increase wages for workers who depend on tips.

This year, I wanted to go beyond changing our laws and focus on bringing employment opportunities straight to our community. I hope you will join me for a free apprenticeship event to meet potential employers, learn about apprenticeship opportunities, and find ways to build important skills. I will be joined by:

  • The Department of Labor Office of Apprenticeship
  • The Plumber and Steamfitters Apprenticeship Program
  • Electricians Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee
  • The Connecticut Carpenters Apprentice and Training Program
  • The Operating Engineers Apprenticeship Training and
  • Skill Improvement Program

Please join me on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 10:30 AM to 1 PM at the Burroughs-Saden Library, 925 Broad Street, Bridgeport.
