Creating a Technology Incubator in New Haven

tech guyPlans to build a technology incubator at the former Connecticut Transit bus depot at 470 James Street moved a step closer to reality with the announcement that the State of Connecticut has committed to funding environmental cleanup at the site.

With companies like See-Click-Fix, Grey Wall Software and so many others, New Haven is emerging as a center for innovation. In fact, the Bloomberg U.S. Innovation Index just ranked Connecticut one of the top five most innovative states in the country.

Innovation is crucial to Connecticut's economic competitiveness. I'm proud that we remain one of the leaders in the country thanks to our state's investments and forward thinking.

Alexion Returns to Downtown

Last week, Alexion Pharmaceuticals moved its headquarters, along with 200 employees, to 100 College Street in New Haven. The company plans to have 1,000 people working in New Haven by the end of March.

Alexion is a pharmaceutical company that develops drugs to treat rare disorders and researches diseases, especially those impacting the immune system.

Alexion moving to New Haven after building a new 10-story complex is part of a larger trend of companies and residents moving back to the city. More and more people are investing in New Haven and helping create jobs and move our economy forward.
