Crumbling Concrete Legislation Passes Both Chambers

VIDEO: Foundations
In response to what has been an incredibly difficult situation for hundreds of homeowners, the General Assembly passed legislation I put forward that will provide immediate relief to those who are dealing with crumbling concrete foundations while an investigation into the faulty concrete continues.

This bipartisan legislation will allow homeowners with deteriorating foundations to have their homes revaluated so that local property taxes reflect the current value of the home. The legislation also puts in place safeguards for prospective homebuyers, changes reporting requirements, and requires increased record keeping related to newly poured concrete foundations moving forward.

While this is a good place to start, I am committed to investigating a more comprehensive solution to this problem and helping homeowners who have been impacted find long-term relief.
