Alexion Moves to New Haven

Last week, Alexion Pharmaceuticals moved its headquarters, along with 200 employees, to 100 College Street in New Haven. The company plans to have 1,000 people working in New Haven by the end of March.

Alexion is a pharmaceutical company that develops drugs to treat rare disorders and researches diseases especially those impacting the immune system.

Alexion moving to New Haven after building a new 10-story complex is part of a larger trend of companies and residents moving back to the city. More and more people are investing in New Haven and helping create jobs and move our economy forward.

Overnight I-91/I-95 Traffic Impacts

traffic constructionThe Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) announced upcoming construction effecting I-91 Southbound in New Haven. CTDOT is installing overhead sign support structures which will cause delays intermittently during the overnights of weeknights through this Friday, January 29.

Between the hours of 12 AM (midnight) and 5 AM the construction work will cause 20-minute stoppages on I-91 Southbound between the off-ramp to Ferry Street (Exit 7) and the off-ramps to I-95.

Please plan ahead and consider alternate routes. For detour maps and additional information, please visit www.i95newhaven.com.

Free Tax Filing

Tax formThe United Way is offering free tax filing services through the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) and the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) programs for those who make less than $62,000 a year. You can receive help online or in person at a local provider. Find out more on the United Way's website.
