SENATOR MARX RELEASES STATEMENT RESPONDING TO SEXIST SOCIAL MEDIA POST BY MIKE FRANCE
Today, State Senator Martha Marx (D-New London) issued the following statement in response to a social media post from Republican Congressional candidate Mike France, highlighting October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, with the text “Don’t Know How To Check Your Breasts? I Can Help”:
“This is concrete proof that Mike France and many in the Republican Party are misogynists and tolerate sexist, disgusting behavior toward women. This continues the GOP and MAGA assault on women. When France was a state Representative, he voted against insurance companies covering 3D mammograms, a measure that saves lives. If he truly cared about women’s health, he would have voted to protect it then. I am outrageously disgusted and insulted by this post and I certainly hope we hear from GOP leadership and candidates about whether conduct like this is acceptable.” |
